Welcome to Island Bay.

Some of the images on these pages will hopefully give just a taste of the beautiful place I call home.  Others are here because I like the shapes, colours or textures or just that I have enjoyed taking the photographs.

One of my favourite places to go and take time out is down to the shoreline and the rocks.  This view of Island Bay looks to the west across the bay with Tapu Te Ranga - the island in Island Bay - in the upper left of the photo.

The island makes the bay itself a very sheltered spot.
This view is from the center of the bay looking south.  The next landfall in that direction is Antarctica.

This is one of those shots included just because I like the shapes and colours.
My youngest child and I were sitting in the backyard enjoying the sunset and
I thought I would try and capture a snapshot of the moment.

The title says it all.  Locating Island Bay, Wellington from a global view.

Alternative heading could be - "I'm not sure where these things fit, but they are part of my world"

A brief word about the owl pictured in the heading of the page:
This is the native New Zealand Bird called the Morepork and it's name indicates the call it makes.  The reason for choosing this as part of my heading is very simple.  I love owls.

Thank you for visiting.
