Here are my new electrostatic speakers!! I found these for sale in Auckland and just had to have them! They have had the full 'Crosby Modification' and sound great. Overall, these speakers have a bit more top and bottom frequency extension when compared to the Quad ESL 57's.
These pictures were taken in January 2003 and show the speakers as I bought them. Someone has installed a very large 200uf polyprop capacitor to replace the original 200uf electrolytic capacitor. The large size of the replacement capacitor has meant that it protruds below the plinth (not shown here) and requires the speaker to be supported off the ground by feet. I plan to investigate a better method of mounting the capacitor so that the feet can be removed.
