
6SN7 Line Stage
These are photos of a valve preamp that I built using the 6SN7 tube ( this preamp has since been reconfigured to use the 56 triode as a cathode follower). The preamp is a copy of the VTV octal line stage. I really liked this preamp however, it was recently stripped for parts so I could build my new preamp (see below). Unfortunately, the camera has cropped the pictures at little too much.....

56 Triode Line Stage
Here is the new 56 triode based preamp. As you can see it uses the original preamp chassis however, thats where the similarities end. The 56 has been configured as a cathode follower and the resulting sound is a definate improvement! The schematic is my own so I would appreciate any postive feedback for improvements. If you decide to construct this, then you do must do this at your own rsk.

R3 = 1M ohm Rg = 2M ohms Rk = 27k ohms Based on a B+ of 250 volts.
