CURRENT VERSION 0.09

Here's your chance to participate in the development of a rogue-like game. This game is being developed for DOS/WIN95 machines and is emailware. Your feedback is extremely important for motivation and improvement purposes! Let me know what you like and what you hate about it.

New versions will be released when they are ready (enough new features added to make it worthwhile), so keep an eye on the version number .

What’s happening with over?
I am really sorry for the complete lack of updates.
Work is still being done on it, but progress is v.slow due to time constraints. I will probably clean up the source code (and add some comments) and release it for public scrutiny / tinkering, but it’s in a pretty ugly state at the moment. The current build does not work at all, as it is half way through a complete AI rewrite and data-type change (from a basic array type data structure, to a more flexible linked-list system for all data objects in the game). Also, a quest system is partially implemented with the player starting in a village above the dungeon which is under attack at the beginning of the game!

Problems?

If the game doesn't run or displays a screen of garbage, try installing a vesa driver. If you have a S3 chipset based card, download the S3VBE program available from S3. If you have a different brand, try Scitech's Univesa driver.

If this doesn't fix the problem, email me with the details of the problem and your system specs.

Here is a strange looking plasma type effect I created while writing some graphic primitives for the game...
