As George was home
for a change, we decided to take the kids to McDs at Hunters
Plaza shopping mall. The kids each had a nugget Happy Meal and
a burger! In the centre of the Food Court (which isn't big)
is a selection of ride-on kids' toys. When George Jnr and Joyce
Erena finished eating, they went to play. We weren't worried
as we could see most of the toys from where we were sitting.
When Makene finished eating, we cleared up and I went to get
Georgie and Joyce Erena. Georgie was there but there was no
sign of Joyce Erena. I stayed with the two boys while dh did
a very quick search around the mall. Remember, this is a small
mall (not your classic American giant mall). He was back quite
quickly, and I really started to panic. |
He
suggested she might have gone to the toilet on her own, so I
left him with the boys and went searching. I checked all the
toilets- she wasn't there. By now, I was in a real panic. NZ
might be a reasonably peaceful country, but there are sickos
everywhere!! George and I went in search of a security person.
The one we spoke to mentioned that there was a little girl with
the other security person in the underground parking garage!
I ran with Georgie to the escalator and down to the parking
area. Joyce Erena was sitting with the female security guard,
crying but chatting to her! I hugged her, she hugged me, we
both cried, and Georgie hugged both of us! The security guard
had found her wondering around the parking garage looking for
our brown car! She said she thought we had left without her!!!
I told her we loved her way too much to ever do that!
The poor little thing must have been in such a panic! Anyway,
it made me realize just how much I love my little people! |
